No Poppy with a strong stance in the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Fillies’ Handicap
The £12,938 prize money of the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Fillies’ Handicap has attracted a line-up of seventeen runners who are three-year-old and above. They will thunder over the mile track at Newmarket on Wednesday, 24th October. With the highest potential to make an impact in the field today are, No Poppy, Raheeba and Shena’s Dream.
Taking the lead over the rest due to the 6 to 1 backing is the four-year-old bay filly, No Poppy. She has already raced fourteen times during the new season, but it will be her seasonal debut at Newmarket.
Five of her outings have ended with a trip to the winner’s enclosure.
Chineur’s bay filly was successful in the AJA Lady Riders’ Handicap (Lady Amateur Riders) on 28th April, 2012 at Doncaster over seven furlongs.
No Poppy landed the race in partnership with, Miss Hayley Moore. Staying in the rear initially, the duo gained attention when chasing the leader with the final two furlongs on the horizon.
Battling right to the wire got her through by a mere neck’s margin.
Levitate ended as the runner-up, and was soon followed by, Eastern Hills.
The Irish bay filly then made the most of the Betfred Is Backing Barney Handicap on 14th May, 2012 at Redcar race course over seven furlongs.
As was her approach in the last race, she over threw challenge right when inching in for the wire, and defeated Little Jimmy Odsox by a mere head’s margin.
The winner was accompanied by jockey, Adam Carter.
She failed to strike in a hat-trick, and missed seven races after that with the exception for the success on 27th June.
The Tim Easterby trained won the Royal Scots EBF Fillies’ Handicap on 30th September, 2012 at Musselburgh over a mile.
She managed securing the success by an impressive margin of six lengths. The winner was teamed up with jockey, Adam Carter, for the race.
The four-year-old out of, Capetown Girl, struck a back-to-back for a second time during the season by claiming the prize money of the Acorn Web Offset Handicap on 12th October, 2012 at York race course over a mile.
