No Proof of Car Insurance?

I got a ticket for no proof of insurance, I forgot to pay it, now I must see the judge, I didn't have insurance, yes very very dumb, I know, my question is..will I just be fined or is there jail time involved. I imagine there will be just a heavy penality in fines

  1. Many things affect what is going to happen, your age, driving record the state you live in.


  2. In California your  license could be suspended for a year. No jail time.

  3. You didn't say what state you're in,  Each state has different penalties for this infraction.  Call the judge's office and ask what the minimum and maximum penalty is if you plead guilty.  They will tell you or you can go on line and look it up for yourself.

  4. 1.get insurance before you go to court.

    2.bring proof of to court.

    3.pay your fine.

    4.keep your car insured.
