No Salt !!!?

Question

Why is it when you ask for no salt on your french fries at McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King or any of the major fast food restaurants you get your food with SALT coated all over them? I try to eat slightly healthy (I fail miserably!) when I drive my truck for Fedex Express and have to grab a quick meal. I eat a salad with a Filet of Fish value meal and hopefully fries with no salt. Why can't they pay attention to a simple request?

been there...done that.....   the problem is...they empty the fry basket into a salt lathered bin....and the fries automatically get salt on them.

Sometimes, you tell them no salt, and they still put salt on them...or 'just a little' (what's up with that???)

then, they cop an attitude if you go over with them 'NO salt on the fries'....well, ppl wouldn't have to talk to them like they are idiots if they would listen.

(I suggest you go to Subway if you like a healthy fast meal.)  :)

I've watched them make fries for me with no salt - and have watched and no salt was added - but the bin they toss them in is coated with salt - so my unsalted fries got salted anyway.  

Better to make your own food and keep it in a small ice chest in your truck.

The fries come with seasoning already on them.  When they serve them, they normally sprinkle salt on them again.

Instead of stopping at fast food outlets, is there any type of produce stand you could go to.  You could choose from an assortment of healthy produce and juices.  A lot of them also carry a variety of sandwiches.  Or stop at a Subway where you can choose to add a variety of vegetables to a sub.

why get mad ..Its your responsibility to eat healthy not Theirs.

If you know that the fries have salt on it why ask for it. .. Bring your lunch to work .. eat PLAIN fish sandwiches,  any condiments is bad for you.. so Instead of blaming the restaurant you should take the credit for that.

Because their frys are already made. If you want them without salt you might have to wait an extra 5 - 10 minutes for them to be made. I would try Sonic they never put much salt on their frys.

Pack Lunch in a Mini Cooler, Sandwiches, are great, with juice.

it is your fault for eating there in the first place

on a ligther note, you can bring this to the attention of the manager or supervisor and they will give you the food, free of charge, if your order was not placed like you wanted it. you want to eat what you want to eat, you are not eating what they decide to give you. you are paying for the food you want to eat. i guarantee you that if you tell the supervisor, they will never make that mistake again

Find an IN N OUT BURGER and order your food there... NO SALT means NO SALT! The meat will stay undalted and the fries wont even be TOUCHED with a grain of salt

they fry all of the food in the same grease, which has salt.

its very gross. they may not clean everything.
