I had a virus on my computer and ended up having to install windows xp on my computer again. When I went to play around with the sound settings it said there were no audio devices. Wtf? I had sound before I installed windows xp on the computer.

  1. two ways i know of

          first and easiest way is to reinstall XP again and connect  the speaker up to your pc and when it say can you hear music and you don't click no and it will reset you sound for you the other ways is to go my computer> right click on the icon >properties>devise manager>sound  viedo  game controller click the little + box delete  everyting there and restart your computer >xp may pick up you sound or it will ask for your install disk --and there is a third way and that is to go realtec.com to their download section and download the software from there----good luck


  2. you need to reinstall your sound device driver, check the manufactures website.

  3. Try installing your audio driver either from the manufacturer of the motherboard if it is onboard, or the manufacturer of the sound card if you purchased a different sound card.  If it is onboard, it should come with the disc that contains your audio driver, but I strongly recommend you use the one on their website because it will have their latest driver there.
