No 'Status' light on the modem

Question

There was a power supply surge at my apartment and my modem was affected.It came back and the 'Status' light on the modem has not come on solid green since then.
The LAN and USB lights are flashing and when I try to set up the modem,I'm told that 'A network cable is unplugged'.
I've installed the modem on another PC and it's the same problem withe no assistance from my ISP's tech support department.
I can't even access the modem's admin page to look at anything there.
