I uninstalled the old T874R1616 and wired up the RTH230B per instructions. I left the jumper between the Rh and Rc terms. Wired the red wire to the Rc and Rh. Wired the white, yellow, and green accordingly as well. The jumper inside is set to He (electric). The unit comes on fine, at the right temp, I'm just not getting any cold air. Help, its hot and I got a 5 week old and a hot wife. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  1. Have you considered that the unit may be faulty and checked with the supplier? Are you using the remote correctly, properly set to cool not just fan?

  2. Why did you change the thermostat? was the AC working before the change out?. If not, the problem probably wasn't the stat.

Did the old thermostat use a jumper from Rh To Rc? Just a thought?

When the thermostat is calling for cooling, does the outside unit (condenser) come on? if not that is why you are not getting any cooling. Just to troubleshoot, jump the red wire at the thermostat to the Yellow wire which is the condenser lead.  The condenser should come on. If not that is where your problem is.

Hope some of this helps. Email me if you need to.
