  1. I'm just a casual / semi-seirous mma watcher and i could name a couple of "black" fighters just off the top of my head

    - Anderson Silva (questionably the best p4p fighter)

    - Rampage Jackson (just lost LHW belt to forest griffin in UFC)

    - Some guy named "crazy horse" or something like that from pride

    - Kimbo.....

    - Andrew Jackson

    and theres plenty more

  2. UFC built their business by not "using" black fighters?

Rampage Jackson (he just lost the championship)

Anderson Silva (last time I checked, he was black)

As a previous poster already stated very well, blacks are a minority. Their last fight card was built around Kimbo Slice and Gina Carano, and that's when they got high rankings, so your theory is flawed my friend.

As far as your theory of a football player crossing over to MMA, it's already being done, Johnnie Morton did it, and he was knockout out in 38 seconds.

  3. Anderson Silva is NOT black. He's brazilian.

  4. Kimbo Slice was in attendance and will fight on the next card.  Brett Rogers was also in the first Elite XC CBS card and will probably fight in October.

The UFC has had- Yves Edwards, Kevin Randleman, Anderson Silva, Rampage, Rashad Evans (TUF 2 champ), Kevin Jackson (Frank Shamrock beat for the first 200 pound belt), Solomon Hutcherson (TUF 3), Melvin Guillard, Anthony Johnson, Mark Weir, Din Thomas, Cheik Kongo, Soko, ect., ect.

Even UFC 1 had Art Jimmerson and Pat Smith.

*Almost every UFC card has had a black fighter.  With the amount of Brazilian's, Asian's, Mexican's, and Europeans, MMA is probably the MOST diverse sport.

  5. It's not a matter of building any business on not using minorities [there were plenty at EliteXC®, just not any African-Americans], it's a matter of supply. There aren't many African-American MMA fighters compared to other minorities, which are the ones who prevail in the sport. MMA is a very costly sport to get into, and mostly attempted by grapplers from the Southern Hemisphere or the corn states in the USA.

    E

  6. They definitely are the most aggressive. That's why most of the people in prison are black (I'm not being racist it's just how it is). I'm guessing the black fighters aren't as disciplined in martial arts as white fighters.

  7. I want to punch your head in for being so fcking stupid and racist that is the kind of answer your dumbas* deserves.

I guarantee you I could punch your head in any day of the week b*tch. And yeah you sure are ******* stupid can't even spell Racist right , and you are racist because u said blacks have the best skill and will be the best fighters just because they are black. You black people dominate a bunch of other sports so I dont know why you got your panties in a bunch.

  8. Are you serious or just that narrow minded?? The UFC is still building itself and Anderson Silva, you know the black guy, is the number one pound for pound fighter in the world and is good friends with Dana White. Rampage, Anthony Johnson, Kongo and Soko are all black and have very lucrative contracts with the UFC.

I will admit that there are not nearly as many black fighters as white fighters in MMA... that is not because they don't let black fighters fight... it is because the majority of fighters that are black are in Boxing as MMA becomes more popular you will begin to see a more diverse group.

As far as Elite is concerned... Kimbo will be back for the next fight so don't worry you can pretend then you know something about MMA!

  9. i dont think that there are alot of black mma fighters look at the iron ring show and the low quality fights they put on looks like they were grasping for straws just to find enough talented people to put on a good show i think that the african american community doesent yet completly understand mma if i tell people i do mma they usually dont kno what im talking about i have to say ufc style fighting and then they may say something like your not big enough to do that or there are no rules in that right its still a pretty new sport everyone hasent cought on yet

  10. The last televised show on CBS had KIMBO on it.

UFC has had black athletes on it from the the 1st UFC on....

Gary, Pat, Emmanual, Felix, Joe, Ron, Melton, Marcus, Larry..And that is only the through 1995..There could be more but I did not remember any others of the top of my head..

So I am not to sure where your going with this or where you got your facts...?

But black athletes have been in the UFC, and I hope you are not using ethnicity as an arguemnet one way or another...

  11. I think you are looking for the hockey category...

  12. I didn't look at it like that at all -

I noticed that Shields came in out of shape compared to his last fight and that he lost - looked like he got tired and got beat.

I noticed that Cyborg (who spoke only Portugese) was dominant in her fight over the well-spoken American chick.

I noticed that Nick Diaz beat a striker at his own game instead of taking it to the ground.

I was watching the fights based on fights, not race of the fighters.

If you look at when the UFC was growing in popularity (late 90's and early 00's there were lots of non-white competitors - Din Thomas, Carlos Newton, Shonie Carter,Terry Martin etc. It's nonsense to say the UFC was built by leaving blacks out.

Elite is building their NAME on a black fighter...or did I miss something about Kimbo Slice??  And the main commentator on CBS EliteXC was black - which is a position that white guys have filled historically...

Take race out of the picture - I don't think it's an issue, and there's no need to make it one.

  13. You need to do some research before you ask the queston, just because you did not see any black fighters in that event doesn't mean they just don't exist. Look at each company's full roster and you'll answer your own question.

EliteXC's biggest draw is Kimbo Slice right now, Rampage Jackson was the former Light Heavyweight Champion of the UFC. Educate yourself...
