Question:

No burn out on ESPN?

Maybe because we were watching satelite? After the Indy race yesterday ESPN did not show Jimmie's burnout or him kissing the bricks. Saw part of the burnout in the preview for Sports Center.

Did anyone see it on regular cable?

  1. Obvous reasons.  You don't think Nascar had a call into ESPN to tell them to cut it out.  It would have just been icing on the cake to watch him burn out and blow the tires.

  2. I didn't see it................I was happy just to make it through the race................Hopefully some of you will join me in reporting this Gordon Empire child..............He has serious issues.

  3. I was on regular cable and saw what you did. I heard from a friend of mine that Jimmie's tires blew out on his burn out attempt. He has a different cable provider than I do and he saw it.

  4. I don't know why Kissing the Bricks isn't shown anymore.  That is the best part of this race.  They didn't show it last year for Tony either.   I think that is when they stopped showing it.  Ticked me right off.

  5. I agree, i didn't see it either. They did show it on Speed Victoy Lane at 8:00 though. Kind of disappointed but glad he won!!

  6. ESPN never showed it. They went up to 3:58 PM (MDT), showed two minutes of commercial, cut away at 4:00 PM and then some other program. It wasn't on ESPN2 either. They did show his burnout on Sports Center at night, his right rear tire exploded during the burnout.

  7. same here only thing i heard an saw was    Jimmie Johnson has won the Allstate 400 at the brickyard we will return to  victory lane in a few mins

  8. They showed some of the burn out on DirectTV Hot pass. We got to see him on the front stretch. But no kissing the bricks but after a few minutes we did turn it off... also saw him get the checkered flag.

  9. they never show anyone kiss the bricks but you could have just waited and saw the burnout like 20 seconds later on SportsCenter.

  10. I just assumed he didn't do one cause the tires were already burnt out

  11. they showed replays of it on sportcenter after the race it was commercial time when he did the burnouts

  12. After all the competition cautions he forgot that it was an actual race and thought it was just practice or maybe testing like they should have done.

  13. I would guess ESPN is trying to keep people tuned in to watch Sports Center.  Since Nascar is the main sport I like I have no interest in watcing Sports Center.

They really need to show those two things at Indy.  What were they thinking?
