the cruise line i was on had a notice on the daily flyer saying local officials say no camo

  1. i wore camo pants into bridgetown and no one seemed to be bothered. a few people even commented on how nice they were although i am female and it is a different rule for men.

    Caribbean nations such as Barbados and Aruba have strict laws against non-military personnel wearing camouflage military clothing. It’s a concern if you are a tourist who is unaware of the regulations – as tourists are not exempt from this law.

    The laws exist because of the existence of insurgents in the region – anyone wearing combat gear and military clothing is assumed to be a rebel.

    Exactly.... It still happens.  I recall one time Trinidad had announced they would do roadblocks to catch some of the criminals on the highways down there.  Low and behold the criminals find out it was some military personnel that was doing the roadblocks.  Next thing now----, all of a sudden some of those criminal wait til it get real dark on some of them highways and they put on their camo gear and telling people to pull over and end up robbing them.  The people thought the criminal was real military....

  5. Just adding on, in Grenada also, camouflage clothing is not allowed.  Reasons is mentioned above by the first answerer.

    I didn't know Barbados had that rule also.

  7. No camo. NONE, zippo......well unless you wanna be charged. The reason it was ban was because persons uses to dress in full camo and rob places pretending to be military personnel
