No change in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 batting order, says Michael Clarke – Cricket News Update
Australian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757.
The Aussie all-rounder spoke of his reservations about playing upfront due to the extra work load of performing as a bowler as well.
"My role in the team has changed," Watson told the Daily Telegraph. "I have additional bowling demands and I do have to consider whether my body will be able to handle it. I need to think about what will be the best for the team, and how to get
the best out of myself, moving ahead."
In the recently concluded series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 bowled 75 overs in three Test matches, which prompted the player to reconsider his role in the side and wanted to slip down the order in a bid to sustain the level of consistency needed at the International
stage.
The skipper of the team also voiced his concern regarding the extra toll his all-rounder suffered in the sub-continent and contemplated shifting 'Watto' down the pack. However, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120
feels that Watson is still best suited to serve the nation as an opening batter.
"My mind hasn't changed since Sri Lanka," Clarke said. "Right now I think he's best for the team opening the batting and that's certainly where he'll bat in South Africa."
With plenty of cricket in the upcoming months, it will be difficult for Watson to constantly bowl along with opening the innings. In the ongoing Champions LeagueT20, the cricketer has been barred from bowling for his domestic outfit http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 in order
to keep him fresh for the Proteas tour.
The Kangaroos have had an impressive revival in the team’s fortunes after a disappointing World Cup 2011. Since then the new skipper has led the team ably in tough conditions in the sub-continent and will hope to continue the winning streak by defeating
the South Africans on their home soil in a series starting from October 13.
