No claims bonus certificate?

hi i got a no claims certificate sent to me from my last insurer i need to send it to my new insurer,

do i send them a copy of the original?

  1. Just send them the original. You will always have proof of your NCD. Its of no other use to you


  2. I sent a photcopy, they accepted it.

  3. They need the original, make a copy for yourself if you want though.

  4. Unless your new carrier requested the certificate, it has no value with the new carrier.  Think of it as telling Delta you are a frequent flyer with United -- they don't care.  Most carriers base your rate off past history before the policy is written.  IF for some reason they want it, send a copy.
