hi

i went on elephant and diamond to get car insur quote

they asked have u got any no claims bonus, i insured a car back in 2006 for a year with a local insurance company and was insured for a year with no claims bonus.

would that not count as 1 yrs no claims bonus? i dont have any paperwork though?

surely i have 1 yrs no claims even if it was on a another car?

  1. Do you remember with which company you insured? Contact them and request proof of no claims. They'll send you a document which you send to your new insurer. Meanwhile, yes, enter 1 year's no claims on the online form. No claims has a limited lifetime - I think it's 3 or 5 years but either way 2006 is not too far back.


  2. you would need to contact you recnet insurer or last insurer and ask for a certificate of proof of no claims which they will provide

  3. Providing the policy expired less than 2 years ago then it SHOULD be acceptable as proof of bonus - but read the insurance companies' guides as to valid proof of bonus.
