No clue how to get to school this year

Ok last year I got a ride with my friend. But this year he is going to practice driving and his mom wont allow teenage passengers. My school is about 2 miles away from my house so it is a fairly long walk. My other friend is always late so I don't really want to ride with him, and the rest of my friends live too far out of the way to give me a ride.

My parents both start work at 7:30, which is what time my school starts, so in order to get a ride with them, I would have to arrive at school at like 6:45 - 7:00 every day. My only last option is to either ride my bike, but I don't exactly trust my school in what they do to vehicles and bikes (3 vandalized vehicles last year)

My last option is to ride the bus, which is what my dad does to get to work. I have never ridden the bus before. How do you know which stop to get off? Or which bus to get on? How do you tell the bus driver to stop at a stop? Or do they automatically stop at every stop on the way?

  1. hey its me Ethan so if you had to i would ride my bike to school or get one of your uncles to drive you and if you have to ride your bike try to find some short cuts. and if you ride a bus to get on the right one remember your bus number. and when you ride you have to watch out for your house ro bus stop

  2. There's nothing wrong with taking the bus - it's super easy! Try looking online (Google the name of your local transit, i.e. Toronto Transit Commission [if you don't know, ask your dad]), because most cities post bus routes and schedules. That way you'll know which bus to get on, what time to catch it, and the name of the stop to get off at. Chances are, there will be a stop in front of your school. There's usually a rope against the windows on both sides of the bus that you can pull before your stop, and sometimes the poles have buttons on them. You can also just tell the bus driver you want to get off at the next stop. Buses very rarely stop at every stop, but chances are you won't be the only student taking that bus!

What I'd suggest doing is look up the bus route now, and try taking it before school starts. That way there will be fewer people on the bus, so it will be easier to learn the route. If you're really nervous, get your dad to take it once with you. There's really nothing to be worried about though, it's not that hard!

  3. Dude walk or take the bus. It's totally not a big deal. Just talk to the bus company and ask them which bus takes you to school and which stop you would have to go to. I would walk though, I hate taking the bus but had to because its like a 2 hr walk.
