No connection?

I own a JVC Everio G hard disk camcorder. For some reason, when I want to view the video without using the Powerproducer softwear, the camcorder does not show up on the "my computer" screen. Any ideas as to why it does not show up?

Double check to make sure that the cords are in the right places both on the computer and on the camera.  What it sounds like is that its not reading it as :E or :F.  Also are you sure that it's supposed to show up on that screen.  hope I helped and good luck trying to get it to work again.  

PS.  If you haven't tried it yet, put it in the usb port plug.
