Question:

No dial tone in house?

I have checked the junction on the outside of the house and it does work there and no dial tone in the house. Whats next? Bring a new line in and ?????

  1. Bringing in new line is not the only solution in your case,

    since you have told that the Demarcation jack works well we can be sure that the problem would not be on the phone set.

    however there might be chances that the jack inside your home is in trouble or while moving the phone inside the house a pair of wire from the jack might be pulled out.

    most of the telecom companies provide wire care plan for residential lines, so call your service provider and ask them to come and check your lines.


  2. If you have another telephone unit, try to install it if you can get a dial tone. If still no dial tone, call the telephone technician.

  3. Somewhere between the out side box and the inside box ( assuming you phone works ) there is either a short, broken line or a little tiny wire is not connected right.
