World Youth Day /week (which came and went just a few weeks ago). Regardless of faith, the way it unites multitudes of diverse people to celebrate together in one place is truly phenomenal. I'm still kind of lamenting over all the foreigners/pilgrims leaving - the atmosphere in Sydney was incredible!

There are smaller versions such as SE Asian, ASEAN and Commonwealth Games but the Olympics Games are the biggest gathering of nations competing against each other on the sports field. World Cup Football might be second.
