I heard that when returning to Kenya for good, (I'm in the us) one doesn't have to pay duty on personal items shipped home regardless of amount, is this true?

  1. I would check with your embassy or consulate and get something in writing.  It was our experience going into Kenya that it depended on the mood of the customs officer.  Be SURE you know what kind of items are forbidden or you may forfeit your ENTIRE shipment.

  2. I dont know about amounts, but i do know that if you were taking a care home for good it would be duty free.
