No expense spared, Bullet Train to be the pace setter for Frankel at Queen Elizabeth II Stakes
The lineup for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes is so very versatile that Frankel being adamant on his ninth straight win might just not turn out to be as expected. Trainer Henry Cecil is analyzing the race from all dimensions and has settled upon entering
Frankel’s stable mate, Bullet Train in the race as a pace setter and security edge for the horse.
The two are known for sharing chemistry at work back home with Bullet Train helping Frankel in all his work. Sir Henry Cecil wishes the display on the track that day so that the proper galloping performance by Frankel can be ensured.
"He's a three-parts brother, he's a very good lead horse, he leads him in all his work at home. He's a year older, he's not in the same class, but he is a Classic trial winner. He'll make sure they won't crawl around”.
Another reason that Henry Cecil reached this decision was that he does not want Frankel to be leading the lot throughout the track and then getting exhausted towards the final yards of the final furlong thus the need for a pace setter who can instill a sensible
speed to get the going on the track easy and comfortable.
The victory might be an uncertain factor but the ability of the Galileo to mange and win on any sort of ground condition has set the trainer almost tension free. Frankel has already won on different ground types be it fast, slow, soft, firm or whatever other
conditions exposed to.
The race includes three entries from A P O’Brien, Await The Dawn, So You Think and Zoffany, two more by Saeed Bin Suroor includes, Poet’s Voice and Rio De La Plata and then of course the most concerned trainer to keep his unbeaten horse’s record the same
but with another victory posted has Frankel and Bullet Train in the lineup.
Robert Collet’s Immortal Verse is being predicted to give Frankel tough time on the track that day as the only thing that Immortal Verse has done is to improve and is now waiting for the upcoming rivalry with Frankel.
Cecil told At The Race: "If I can get him right I'd be very disappointed if he doesn't win. He's got a great chance if I can get him there as I want to. I wouldn't swap him, but that doesn't mean I'm going to win”.
Both ways round the race will break records for Frankel either taking it to the undisputed ninth win or slashing away the record of the unbeaten career, this might as well be the race that fails to get him the first position which he has now grown use to
but then again only the race will tell.
