No functions from keyboard or mouse (wireless)

I have bought a Murcury keyboard and mouse,second hand) Model KOB 5045.I have installed the software,which seems to ok,but can not get the set to function.I have set the set out as advised etc.new batts. fitted.What, if you can help me is the correct form for the setup?e.g.hold button down on transmitter etc.Regards,Walt. Newman.(rtd.)
