No fur around my dog's neck?

I have a boxer/pitbull mix w/ a hint of shar-pei in his blood. He has shar-pei fur, but around his neck it's missing, He use to have a nylon collar and I switched it to leather hoping his fur would grow back. His collars have never been too tight or too loose, they've alwasys have been just right around the neck. So what can I do to make his fur come back?

Sometimes the hair will thin out where the collar rubs or he may have had a reaction to the collar.  Leave it off unless he is going outside.  You should see some regrowth in about a month.  If not, I would have the vet check him out.

get a looser collar.

Yes the nylon collars can and will do that.  You did good by getting a different kind, leather.  Not sure if the fur will grow back or not but if it does it will take awhile.

Maybe try lining the collar with a fleece type material.
