No ground worries for Kilavalley in Tramore Racecourse 1912 - 2012 Centenary Ladies INH Flat Race
The going is soft at Tramore, and a few may struggle in Thursday’s Tramore Racecourse 1912 - 2012 Centenary Ladies INH Flat Race. But there are no such issues for Kilavalley, who is more than capable of going well even in the testing conditions.
Trained by D. T. Hughes, the bay gelding showed plenty of class on his both starts. After finishing fourth on debut, the 5-year-old raised his game significantly to ensure the runner-up place here in May.
Under Mark Enright, he tracked the leaders in fourth, and went third halfway. An excellent effort in the middle stages helped the novice go second entering straight.
He ran well under pressure, but failed to make an impression on the winner. As a result, he missed the victory by one and a half lengths in the www.kilbegganraces.ie (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.
Owned by A. M. Ryan & W. Aird, the talented runner is open to further improvement, and can display an outstanding show in today’s 2-mile contest. A total of 15 horses have entered the race in pursuit of a prize worth €4,830. The affair will be commenced
at 17:45 GMT.
Jupitor is another to watch out for. The 6-year-old has proved his mettle over this distance, and is expected to give a solid account. Paul Nolan’s charge ran a couple of fantastic races in defeat before going out of action in April.
The son of Milan is coming back after almost six months, and looks fresh. He has done very well over this distance in the past, and should not be underestimated.
Breaking Bits arrives from an in-form yard, and should be given some respect. Trained by T. J. Taaffe, the 5-year-old has not succeeded so far in the professional racing, but there are no questions over his extraordinary abilities.
Chandrew is now racing in blinkers. Yet, it is hard to get excited about his prospects, especially given the stable’s current form.
There are a few talented horses in the crew, but Kilavalley has the best chance of coming out on top. We wish the best of luck to all the participants.
