No hard feelings towards Knight Riders, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CH-Gayle-c1221- Cricket News Update
The destructive Royal Challengers Bangalore opener, Chris Gayle, said on Saturday that he had no hard feelings for his former IPL franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders.
"There are no hard feelings. We are like a family. Both the teams play aggressive cricket and play for victory,” said the West Indian all-rounder after his current IPL team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, lost to Knight Riders by 47 runs.
Chris Gayle, the 32-year-old explosive top-order batsman and a handy left-arm off-spinner, played for King http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319’s Kolkata Knight Riders in the first three editions of the lucrative Indian Premier League, before moving to Royal Challengers last year. In his
first game against KKR last season, the left-hander had scored 102 off 55 balls, smashing 10 fours and 7 sixes. After scoring an 8-ball 2 against KKR at home this season, the hard-hitting opener played a swashbuckling 58-ball 86-run knock, but could not help
his side avoid a 47-run defeat.
“Unfortunately, I had to be on the losing side in both of our games...that's life," said the Jamaican.
Gayle also lavished praise on KKR’s principal owner and Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan, saying he is a friendly person who always keeps players motivated, regardless of winning and losing.
"Shah Rukh is a very friendly person. I have been a part of his team earlier and he is a respectable and loving man. Win or lose, there is no love lost from his point of view," said the all-rounder.
The belligerent left-handed batsman last night surpassed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ajinkya-Rahane-c970 as the leading runs scorer of the tournament with a tally of 336 runs in seven games so far. However, he said that he is not thinking much about the orange cap.
“I’m not going to focus on the Orange Cap…It’s just a secondary thing for me. I always look at team’s benefit. A win is more important for us,” Gayle said.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Jamaican had won the Orange Cap Award last season amassing 608 runs in 12 matches.
With four wins and four losses in nine outings, and one washed out game against Chennai, the Royal Challengers find themselves fourth on the standings.
Gayle hoped his side will bounce back in the ensuing games and will end up in the top four this season.
