No hardcore decision for Frankie Dettori after the France Galop hearing
The initial hearing for the test that ran positive for the high profile, the celebrity jockey, Frankie Dettori, was held at the France Galop disciplinary committee. His future after the outcome of the test, has run uncertain and even the meeting could not
reach any final suspensions or penalties.
The jockey who is almost always found in the blues of the Fly Emirates, attended the meeting through a conference call which was directed to a threesome panel. The test at Longchamp on 16th September has put the three-time champion jockey in a
tight spot as any and all suspensions will apply world-wide.
The Italian British-based jockey is being legally represented by, Christopher Stewart-Moore, who too was at the hearing and has confirmed that no decision has been reached as yet.
According to the France Galop Media Relations Manager, Julien Pescatore, their policy forbids the issuance of any statements until the status of the matter changes to ‘resolved’.
He said: "The medical committee have had their hearing. Mr Dettori was not in Paris but he was represented by Christopher Stewart-Moore.
"The medical committee will give their decision to the jockey and as long as he has not received it, France Galop will not communicate anything. If the medical commission want France Galop to communicate something for them later on, then we can do that,
but that is up to them."
Dettori’s representative stated:
“The Medical Committee will announce their decision shortly, and we will then comment further on Frankie Dettori's behalf."
A test or ‘a hearing story’ against the name of the jockey who was retained by the Godolphin string for eighteen-years, gets more attention and audience because of his extra ordinarily successful career and participation in the top-class meetings year after
year.
He has made it clear that he has no intentions of retiring any time soon. Such rumors started circulating when his former employer attached more and young riders to the operation. The situation got intense when the eighteen-year-old association came to an
end and with that many though that Frankie Dettori’s career’s tenure had ended.
However, the former employer stated that they will still give rides to the jockey who was the ace for the string, and the jockey himself has been taking his free lancing career very carefully and seriously.
