  1. This racist woman needs to be fired!

It isn't that Tiger wasn't hurt, Tiger Woods is an educated professional. Unlike kelly. She should not be able to broadcast a highschool scoccer game. And the people that are trying to answer your question, sound just as racist as her, or they maybe just as uneducated as her.

There is a difference between lynching and hanging...

Sure in the wild west they hung horse theives, cattle rustlers etc....most times with a trial.

But lynchings were a way to impel fear in slaves. That's where the word came from...charles lynch, slave owner who taught other plantation owners how to keep their slaves in order. By "lynching" them . http://www.yale.edu/ynhti/curriculum/uni...

She was very, very unprofessional, and to say that on the air, and no one seems to think that it's a racist statement is just as dumb as she is.

Would you say on TV, which is now brodcast around the world, for instance...If Tiger happened to be Jewish; "maybe they need to send him to a concentration camp and starve him then gas him"? Would that be okay with you? Of course not! Why would it be okay for her to say something like that?

Would it be okay if someone said, lets gang rape kelly and throw her off a bridge. Is that appropriate? Of course not. But we are "friends", I didn't mean nothing by it...

come on ...give me a break! The next microphone she would broadcast out of would be McDonalds drive thru window! By the way...slaves were Black people..Duh!

  2. Al is a media hungry politically charged African American male. He will never have the credibility that Dr. King or Jessie Jackson had and he wishes he could. Remember the A-Tone speech from the million man march? What an IDIOT, how can any intelligent person listen to him. That being said, the announcers were talking about how F___en good Tiger is, and making jokes about ways the rest of the field could catch him. Ultimately insinuating that it was impossible. Malice was never the intent of the statement furthermore, once she realized that what she said could be taken the wrong way, she apologized at the end of the program, rather than sweep it under the rug. These are not the actions of a evil woman, however they are the actions of a man who will do anything to be on TV!

  3. No way in h**l should she be suspended. Even Tiger says it's not an issue and he took the comment in the way it was intended. If anyone wants to beat Tiger, the are going to have to do something to him off the links because they won't be able to do it playing him. There is nothing racist about it. PERIOD. Give the woman her job back and stop being so PC America. Only Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson would take that comment out of context and make it a racial slur.

Since when was "lynching" only done to black people. Lynching has been done throughout history to every race, color, and creed. How dare Sharpton claim that they are the only race to be lynched and use it a a racial epitaph.

  4. I think that a suspension would be appropriate.  The word "lynch" is a really bad choice, expecially when it refers to a person of color.  If she had said this in private, it would be between she and Tiger.  Since she said this in public while performing her duties , it is between she, the public and her employer.

I am certain that Kelly feels bad, but she needs to be a lot more careful in choosing her words in the future.

  5. First off Tiger Woods, from his own mouth, is not an African American, see brackets below

{In a sport considered by many as "white"-and viewed by some as racist-Tiger Woods is often described as the "Great Black Hope." His mother, Tida, as she is called by friends, bristles at this description.

"To call Tiger black is to deny my existence," she told Newsweek last year. "You know what my grandfather on my mother's side is? Dutch! White! Hah!"

    While Woods writes "Asian" on forms requesting ethnicity-"Actually, I'm 90 percent Oriental, more Thai than anything," he's said-Tiger feels his ethnicity should never be an issue. And, if he is a role model, it's simply because some people want him to be. http://asianweek.com/101196/tigerwoods.h... }

Second of all to define lynching:

    lynch /lɪntʃ/ Pronunciation Key -

–verb (used with object) to put to death, esp. by hanging, by mob action and without legal authority.

Nothing about race that I see there. Sure there is the connotation of it associated with African Americans, but... ummm.. Tiger is NOT African American.

Enough already of blaming present generations for sins of the past. We are all responsible for ourselves, no more VICTIM mentality!

  6. We are way too racial sensitive in this country. She didn't mean anything racist at all

  7. ok hjomy... bet is not a racist channel. i hate it when i hear white people make comments calling things like BET and black colleges and things like that racist. Every other channel is geard towards a certain type of people. CMT, lifetime, MTV, so y cant bet be ok? As far as black colleges, they are not there to discriminate, they are their to motivate blks! theres a big difference.Yea i dont think the lady is prejudice but she does have to watch what she says. Yes she should be suspended and thats it. What al sharpton speaks is the truth. When u are on tv and radio u have to watch what u say. bottom line

  8. when you are at work. you are supposed to carry your self with a sense of proffesionalism, even though tilghman knew tiger personally, the comment was out of line. it doesnt matter if it affected tiger or not, it would affect others. suspension is an adequate consequence

  9. An on air apology to Tiger would suffice. Ideally Tiger would be there to accept the apology and say he took no offense to it as he said to the press later.

The only reason she was suspended is that the Golf network didn't have the balls to stand up against the media sensationalizing the event.

Why did Rev. Al Sharpton have to stick his nose it it? He's the one who is trying to make a racial thing out of this. Too bad he's not a friend of Tiger. Then he would know that Tiger lists himself as 90% Asian. He has never claimed to be African American.

Why did they take the word 'lynch' and try to make it into a racial slur? There's nothing racial about that word.

  10. Suspension is good enough... Tiger knows she meant know harm by it.  As long as BET, and the NAACP and all the other organizations exist there will always be racism...  What happened back in the day was horrible... its really no different than what Hitler did, but its in the past, it doesn't happen now, (Well in America at least)  most of the people that lived back then are dead... so why make some of us who weren't even alive back then suffer for it. I'm sorry it happened but this generation of people had nothing to do with it

  11. Absolutely NOT.

She was paying Tiger Woods a compliment, by saying that the only way younger golfers stood a chance at being competitve was by taking Tiger out.

Then racists like Al Sharpton get involved and the Golf Channel gets all scared and intimidated.

I would like to ask Al Sharpton what he puts in his soup. If he answers, "crackers," I'll sue his big fat butt and demand he be fired.

  12. The remark was an obvious, but poor attempt at humor.  Her quick apology and acceptance by Tiger Woods should have been the end of it.

The bigoted, hypocritical racist Al Sharpton, who is the only one who would even remotely allege the remark was a slur to Black Americans, caught the moron management at the Golf Channel like a deer in the headlights.  Their acknowledging Sharpton escalated the incident to the point they thought some cruel punishment was in order.  Shame on Sharpton and shame on the Golf Channel.

Oh, by the way, my remark about 'deer' is not an endorsement of animal/vehicle violence and was not intended to offend anyone, even the ASPCA.  Give me a break, folks...

  13. The only people making a big deal of this is the media( because it sells) and of course Al Sharpton. Al  loves it when whites use the "N" word or any other slander  toward the black race because he can get his big black face in the news again.  If she apoligized to Tiger it should be enough, but because of Al and the media companies will be pulling their endorsements from the golf channel so her firing is inevitable. I for one am getting sick of walking on egg shells for every ethnic group in America. Don't we have anything better to complain about than someone using the word lynch. What's next you can't say whip or shackle. Grow up people, and have a sense of humor for Christ sake!
