No ice rink near?

Question

Now look i want to learn how to play ice hockey BUT the rink is like a hour away.BUT there is a roller hockey place near me.I dont reallly want to play roller hockey you cant even check at that place how poopy is that?Anywho do you think i should just go play roller hockey?

i think you should play both, if time allows. use roller hockey as practice for getting the basics down and definatly play ice. if you dont have the time but your dedicated enough i would drive that 1 hour to play ice hockey, its worth it.

You're not being realistic. Any hockey even what "Kevin Arnold" tried to play in a gym, has contact. Roller hockey will help you learn the game and it seems there are more places where you can develop your ability at it, especially if you're learning the basics. No checking in RH my a*s I've given + taken many hits while on rollerblades. I agree that ice hockey is more fun though!

hg I have to disagree with you .. with the right skates you can practically play ice hockey while on rollerblades. I suggest crow give roller a try because with the right training they can get a feel for the game and practise it much more often. But anyway we're all entitled to our opinion.

i would say no beacuse roller hockey teaches you the wrong things. like doing wide turns. like in ice hockey its all about stop and starts. etc. but roller hockey will teach you the understanding of the game but i would ice hockey
