  1. Don't force inspiration, but be on the lookout for something to write about: when you pay close attention to what's going on around you, SOMETHING will hit you and become a song.

There are things you can do to help get inspiration:

-Think of your experiences (relationships, situations, etc)

-Think of your friends and what they're going through

    -Read your favorite artists lyrics

Once you have that one subject to write about, all there is to do is write a song. But that's another hurdle in itself. Here are some tips:

-Don't rhyme just to rhyme. Use rhyming occasionally in your songs

-You're not writing a novel (lots of detail) and you're not writing a Hallmark card (short and sweet)

-Simple lyrics go a long way (check out "Lucky" by Jason Mraz ft. Colbie Caillat)

-Revise until your song is perfect (you'll know when it is)

-Never throw away lyrics: you could use a verse from an unfinished song in a new song

    -Avoid cliches

    Above all, have fun! :-D

  2. your life may be of an inspiring moment, what is in the mail, who have you met, where are all the animals and pets,

is it raining again by the bay,

whats all that noise from far away,

set out in a field or forest, and write about visuals along the way,

use your moods to swing and sway,

and turn that sad face :(  the other way :) ,

if someone was with you, there'd be more to say,

surely you must know of someones birthday,

and a friend or family with whom you can play,

call up your elders of wisdom in gray,

as here i sit babbling with my breakie and whey,

    ♈  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™Â‰  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™ÂŠ  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™Â‹  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™ÂŒ  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™Â

    ♎  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™Â  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™Â  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™Â‘  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™Â’  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™Â“

    ..

  3. okay, first lean back and relax. don't try to write yet. then, put on your favorite songs or cds and just listen. don't think or judge; let the music wash over you. then once you feel ready, start writing. don't stop, either. keep writing until all your thoughts are down. that's when you should look over and edit anything you don't like. good luck! that's what i do when i write songs.

  4. let it come to you, you cant just go out and expect to find it immediately. just be patient and think about something that has made an impact in your life or about something you feel strongly about. good luck. your inspiration is out there just wait for it to FIND YOU!
