  1. WOW!  You got a steal.  Are you sure?  I need to go out to your dentist.

Yes it is an extremely good deal.

  2. That price is more than fair. I work in the Chicago area and that would cost you quite a bit more at the dentist I work for.Yes, dental work is expensive. However, unlike a car, you only have one set of teeth, so it is best to take care of them. They will last you way longer than any car.

Dental work is very precise and accurate work. The majority  may not totally appreciate how much skill is needed to do good dentistry, but, you can sure spot the ones who have not had good dental care!

Feel good about your quote. It sounds fair to me.

  3. Sounds fair to me. Anything dental can be very expensive.

  4. yes that sounds pretty good for being uninsured. I pay around $500 per root canal recently because of this great plan I have which may help you also. I signed up online over 5 years ago now and they have saved me thousands: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com All services are included in this very affordable plan. They even had my benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use it the very same day.

  5. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FAIR PRICE FOR DENTISTRY!!!

Dentists are a tight group and have pretty much fixed the prices so it really does no good to shop around. I can guarantee that if you went to 5 other dentists you would get 5 different opinions about what needs to be done.

Ask your dentist how long [a couple hours] it will take to do the work. He won't tell you what his cost for the material or lab work is because it isn't much. He will give you some BS about his high overhead and cost of equipment to run his office instead.

I worked for dentists for over 40 years and they don't want to just fix your teeth. They want to BS you and sell you high tech dentistry that really is not necessary but helps to pay for their beamers, Mercedes and jags.

When you look at the fancy offices most dentists are building today you realize they can't pay for them if they are just filling teeth.

I put the dentist phone number right next to the used car salesman and the guy who wants to sell me vinyl siding for my brick house. The dentist is listed as The Marketing Specialist.

It surprises me that the dentist hasn't figured out a way to charge patients for using a mirror to look at themselves when the work is done.

There is not much difference from muggers, but at least a mugger doesn't pretend to be your friend when he robs you.

  6. Very fair for molar pricing especially. Even if you had dental insurance, most would only cover $1000 for the year. Even though you would probably pay out a minimum of $250 for a really good deal plan but usually most people pay more like $360-600 a year in premiums. In response to the person above me, there are a few dentists as he describes in larger towns, but majority of dentistry pricing isn't determined by the dentist it is determined by the dental supply companies, who in my opinion are the ones causing the extreme pricing. Since most major equiptment in a dental office costs $10,000 or more a piece it is very expensive to stock an office, plus student loans for hundreds of thousands of dollars, and then be expected to pay thousands of dollars in supplies each week! The bonding to hold your filling in after the root canal will cost $200+ for one tiny bottle of it.

  7. Well, for those procedures, I'd say (as far as the going rates), that it is fair. Just be sure that it really includes the root canals, posts, AND Crowns for both teeth. Where are  you located? becasue you may be able to get a better price if you use one of the discounted programs, and I could check to see if you have any in your area, or if your dentist participates.

  8. That seems to be good price. I think you can go for it. In case you want to check from other dentists, then you can visit www.identalhub.com and check their listings

  9. that is an unbelievable price for all that work, it is very inexpensive...I had to pay 2000 each for root canal, post and crown, that was 6000 total.
