No internet connection. when i try to connect on my psp it says testing internet connection but it

when i try to connect on my psp it says testing internet connection but it never gets it.but it gets the ip address and every thing .and somtimes when i try to connect the pc says how there is an ip conflict.i dnt want to get the whole gateway to work jut the wirless part so i can do online play and go on the internett.i have internet on my pc already so dnt worry.the modem i have is a motorola modem supplied by telewest(virgin).pleez help i would realy aprreciate it thanks.
