No large scaled hotel in the UK? 2. cannot find one available to do work placement?

Question

(1) I am an overseas student. I have to study hotel management in the UK colleges & do internship or work placement through work in hotels but school agent staff in my place told me there are no large hotels in United kingdom, very rare hotels with stars, most of them are "b and b" -(bed and breakfast) only. True?

(2) I can hardly believe. Is it true? Why a large country has no large scale hotel! He said i can only find good hotel to do internship in Australia-Brisbane?

(3) no large hotels available in United Kingdom?

(4) no large hotel available to do work placement ?

(5) Any college in the UK has partnership with famous large hotels to provide work placement for student during study?

6 what are the names of such kind of colleges, in what cities?

7 eg: Any hotel just like in TV episode 'Hotel Babylon"?

8 My friend been in London & Brighton for a few days and could'nt find big hotels,only one small b&b?

Try Jersey in the Channel Isles there are some really high class hotels there! and some of the best people to tutor you in Europe and its a lovely Island to live in! PS normally that is! bit of a thing going on there in the news at the moment!

A great hotel to do your placement. The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland. Its a five red star hotel resort. The training and experience you will get there is second to none. They have live in accommodation available also. And looks great on your CV.
