Question:

No longer able to move Subscription songs to mp3 player?

Up until last december I was able to put music onto my player from the Yahoo! Music Jukebox. My annual expired, so I restarted the service. Now when I try to move music to my player it says I can't move Subscription or Stream songs. It must be music that I own.

Did they change the service? When I reactivated my membership I was under the impression that the feature would still be available. It appears now the way they advertise it now, they totally leave out the mp3 player subscription music feature they use to provide.

  1. The issue is that you can only move subscription songs if you are a Yahoo Music Unlimited To Go subscriber.  This is what Yahoo says about it:

"Subscription music is transferable if you are a Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go subscriber."

  2. Sounds like I'm not the only person Yahoo's screwed!  I've talked to their customer service reps: Jay, Lana, and Mark and they all gave me the same cut-n-paste answer (even though I asked them different questions):

"Thank you for writing to us about using Yahoo! Music. We're pleased to help you with information about switching back your subscription to Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go.

We're sorry but Yahoo! Music stopped selling  subscriptions to the To Go tier of Yahoo! Music Unlimited on September 4, 2007. Going forward, new subscriptions to the To Go tier will only be available through select partner channel which is the SanDisk (Sansa Connect)."

When I contacted the customer service dept at Sansa about their ToGo tier, I was told I should talk to Yahoo.

Apparently if we want to play music on our mp3's we're supposed to buy their new Sansa Connect wifi mp3 player, buy individual tracks, or switch to another service provider.

Oh, and I wouldn't bother wasting time trying to get a refund.  You'll get the standard cut-n-paste answer that it's "a non-refundable service, as stated in the Terms of Service you agreed to when you initially signed up"

Good luck finding a new source for tunes for your mp3!
