No matter local or foreigner, best man should coach Pakistan
Team Green is doing well in all three versions of the game without any regular head-coach at the moment. The present interim coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-Hasan-Khan-c77595, was working as chief selector before taking over the charge.
And despite the fact that he had no prior experience of coaching any local or international side when he was asked to shoulder the responsibility, the guys have been displaying a wonderful act under his command.
‘Whether http://www.senore.com/Cricket/A-Mentor-c41238, but Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is intended to
hire a head-coach.
The deliberations are going on and many possible names for the hot seat have been circulating in the media. A few days back, the head of PCB, Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jonathan-Neil-Rhodes-c69150 and the former World Cup-winning Sri Lankan
coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Davenell-Frederick-Whatmore-c52571, are the two strongest candidates for the position.
The interim coach is also ready to take over on the permanent basic, saying that it will be an honour to serve his country.
He stated, "My aim has always been to serve Pakistan cricket in whatever capacity it requires. I am available to the Pakistan Cricket Board in whatever way they want me to work for them and in the best possible way. I did the tough job of chairman of selectors
when the board asked me to perform that role and now I was required to do the equally tough role of coach and I have performed that to the best of my ability.”
PCB made the move to ring-up foreigners after the former Pakistan Captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javed-Miandad-c66580, turned down Board’s offer to join team as batting consultant. On the other hand, the terrible security situation in the country is a huge problem for the governing
body in employing a foreign coach.
It must be noted that the ex-captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, was the first man to voice the need of a batting coach after a substandard performance by his batsmen in the recent mega event.
Miandad showed his readiness to join the side but later, he refused to accept the job because of some personal commitments. Meanwhile, he expressed that a coach isn’t required for the national side, reasoning that no batsman can change his technique after
arriving at the international level.
The former Pakistani pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292, however, has a different opinion regarding this. He believes that the presence of a coach can make a huge difference, as he can guide players to alter their game according to the various conditions.
In the past, PCB had hired a foreign coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robert-Andrew-Woolmer-c85587 who spent a few years with the team before his mysterious death during the World Cup 2007.
The final decision about the appointment is expected to be made within next few weeks. The cricket pundits are eagerly waiting for the announcement, hoping that the PCB will come up with good this time around.
The side has been undergoing rebuilding process and thus, an experienced coach should be brought in to continue the good work that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193 started during his stint.
The coach can either be a local or a foreigner; however the governing body must ensure that the reins are handed over to the right person.
