I can't keep diapers on my daughter. I used to just make sure she had pants on over her diaper but now she just takes those off too. She wouldn't even keep on a one piece outfit. I am sick of walking in her room in the morning to find p**p and diapers everywhere. She doesn't do that whole smear it on the wall thing but she will take it off and go to sleep with it in her crib. I really would like some ideas. Please no ideas about duct taping her diapers on please.

  1. I had the same problem. What I did was, for bed time or naps, put on footie pajamas backwards, then safety pin the top where the zipper comes down. They were never able to undo the safety pin and it kept things a lot cleaner. If you're worried about a safety pin being too dangerous you could leave that out, it's just for extra precaution. Putting their footies on backwards should be enough.I know it is summer and a sleeping baby is already hot enough, but that's the solution that worked best for me. Hope everything works out.

  2. My best friend had the same issue with her son... she put the diaper on backwards so the tabs were in the back.. it helped.

  3. i had 3 kids that used to do that and depending on how old your daughter is i would make her start going potty.  my now 4 yr old used to do that at 2 and he was potty trained in 2 days.  my oldest would do that but, it took 2 1/2 yrs to potty train her.  i think she's ready.  next time she take her diaper off make her sit on the potty.  at night what i did was go out and buy underwear and pants and put the diaper on backwards.   it worked.  try that and see what happens

  4. I have a 4 year old and a 2 1/2 year old, so I know EXACTLY what you're talking about ...LOL

I'm also a preschool teacher, so let me begin by telling you that this is very normal behavior.

It could also be a sign that your daughter is beginning to feel aware of the wet/soiled diaper, and it's becoming very uncomfortable for her to have it on. This is usually one of the first indicators of potty-readiness.

Try to slip on a pair of toddler underwear over the diaper.  This is usually very effective.

Also, be consistent in diaper changes.  Every 2-3 hours she should have a clean diaper.

Expose her to the potty whenever you change her diaper.  Allow her to sit on the potty or explore the flush, etc.

This is only temporary, but very annoying. I had many p**p stains on the carpet before my daughter understood that it was not okay to take off poopy diapers without mommy!

  5. Is she able to remove bib overalls?  They worked great when one of my boys went through a stage like this because he couldn't figure out how to unfasten the buckles.  Also, when we went through this I would check on him when I knew he was asleep and put a diaper back on him without waking him up.  It didn't mean he wouldn't remove it when he woke up, but it would catch it in the meantime.

  6. I guess you have to get more stern with her, make it a definite NO NO, seems you might have to potty train her a little earlier.
