  1. I believe it only applies to the seller.  IF you bought an item and it was a "rip off",  the seller isn't allowed to put negative feedback out there about you just because he's pissed at you.  It's to protect you from unfair feedback from a bad seller.

  2. I have not heard about this, but, it was not perfect to start with.  I have had my ebay account for almost 7 years and have like 75 feedbacks.  Two of those have been negative, but I did nothing wrong either time.. one time, I sold some baby clothes, the woman didn't pay, then left me a negative that she didn't get her items.. the other is a really long story, but the negative for the seller was deserved.  So, I have been on people's ads that say, if you have less then 99% don't bid etc...

I would hope that you could still write feedback, maybe just can't give negative...

  3. They did it because many sellers were blackmailing buyers into leaving positive feedback when it wasn't deserved. Just last week I got an email from a seller telling me to leave them a positive and that they would then do the same for me.

As a seller on Gunbroker once pointed out, the seller should leave feedback as soon as the the payment is received because, at that point, the buyer's job is done.

If Ebay really wanted to protect their customers this would be required. They would also require all costs to be disclosed right at the top of the page, next to the current bid price. Too many dishonest sellers, mostly car dealers, have all kinds of hidden fees buried in the fine print.

These car dealers like to charge "documentation fees" , or 'processing fees" or "dealer fees" that can be as high as $400 above and beyond the bid price. They usually say that the fees cover the cost of paper work, vehicle prep, or some other nonsense. It is really just an "extra-super-profit" fee.

Those other things are just the normal cost of doing business that nobody else charges you for. When you go to the grocery store do they charge you for your groceries and then add a fee for the cashier to total it up and take your money? No legitimate business charges any such fees.

  4. no. a seller cannot leave neg feedback for a buyer. but a buyer can still leave neg feedback to a seller. get it? i sold something to a guy last month, he gave me a huge hassle about it, and didn't pay me for the item. i couldn't leave him neg feedback, but he could lstill leave me neg feedback, it's stupid  i think.
