No more tomatos at subway anymore according to headquarters today?

Headquarters called in today saying that tomatos will no longer be a option at subway? Reactions?

I find that hard to believe . Will check it next time in a Subway. The reason I think that  is wrong is because we are in tomato season !  All around the country . Just saw them for .99 a pound. And I am sure wholesale is far less.

So? Just go to Quiznos, eat toasty, recipe based sandwiches much better than any of the c**p at subway plus try our new $5 deli favorite subs with new subs coming all the time!...and we have tomatoes at Quiznos.

I work at Subway and at our restaurant they are removing tomatoes for a short time due to the salmonella scare they had a little while ago. They will be serving tomatoes again, though. Hopefully this is just for a short time. But unfortunately we have had some very angry customers! :( I hope we can get the tomatoes back soon, because tomatoes definitely make a sandwich!

The subways in Wisconsin will have them as soon as the recall is all sorted out.

The spinach ordeal just wasn't worth returning to the menu as not enough people ordered it.

if in fact this is true, i will stop eating there.  that's the only veggie i add to my sandwiches, and i ask them to put on as many as they can.  no tomatoes, no me.

Temporarily true.  It's strictly a precaution due to the salmonella outbreak.  No one has reported catching it at any Subway.  Tomatoes will be back on the line asap.

I feel special because my order at Subway is always tuna on whole wheat with everything EXCEPT tomatoes. I like tomatoes in salads but on a sandwich it makes it watery.

Correction! I am a subway employee. certain brands from suppliers were tested for Salmonella and were then recalled if the test came back positive. corporate is having the food supplier drop ship tomatoes to all the stores from the suppliers whose brand was unaffected. So you need to get your story straight. Apparently this question was meant to cause chaos and confusion!

Its probably just until the salmonella scare is over. I live in Texas and all the restaurants have stopped serving tomatoes until the Health department says otherwise.

I was at Subway (city #2) on Saturday and the person looked at me like I was nuts when I asked for tomatoes.  She and the customer said it is common knowledge they don't have tomatoes.  Well, the Subway in the city the day before (city #1) had tomatoes.  It would seem like this is an inconsistent policy, but without tomatoes they will lose half of their customers.  Tomatoes are not a big issue unless you are at Subway which only sells sandwiches so you need tomatoes.
