No one can force a person to get health insurance. When will Hillary understand that?

Hillary Clinton promises to make health insurance mandatory for every American. Who's gonna pay for it? How can she force someone to buy health insurance?

I really, really don't think any thinking person has to be "forced" to get health insurance.  It's so expensive that many people simply can not afford it.  Making it affordable is the goal.

A healthy society is to everyone's benefit.  How to achieve it is the big question.  

I haven't seen Hillary's plan, but it's clear that Republicans have none that doesn't sound like Marie Antoinette saying "let them eat cake."

I want it. After seven years I am totally fed up with this brand of conservative (R). I have changed parties because people like d**k Cheney have convinced me they care nothing about America or ordinary Americans. We all paid for his routine surgery last month. So why can't the country afford government health care that works for the rest of America?

Sjean brings up a good point. Now we will have to pay for our insurance, help pay for others insurance and probably carry uninsured insurance for the ones that refuse to have insurance.

The same way she can force someone to pay taxes. Try not paying your taxes and see what happens. They'll garnish your wages and threaten to repossess your home if you don't pay.

Of course, I'm only speaking to the top 30 or 40% of Americans here. That's who's going to be paying Hillary's health insurance premiums. She's not going to ask the 'poor' and 'middle class' to pay. That wouldn't be liberal. So, folks like me are going to have to pay her way for her. And we won't have any choice in the matter. Ever again.

no, the auto ins is not correct. you choose to drive, they ll force you to take health ins.  remember the old saying about death and taxes.  i guess you can add health ins to that.

no place has it worked and it wont work here. i dont think it ll ever get off the ground anyway. only time you here about it is election time.it ll be shelved  after 2008

She can't.   If you have to choose between rent & food or health insurance guess which you're not going to buy.

In California there's a law that everyone has to have car insurance, yet we still have to insure against uninsured motorists.

Mrs. Clinton is a socialist.  She wants to socialize health care.  There would be no health insurance.  The government would run the program, and you would have to pay for it with higher taxes.

Her idea is bad.

I sure don't want it and would have a huge problem if I were forced to. But Massachusetts is.
