I'm visiting here near Belfast and my debit cards are not working. These are prepaid cards. I call the numbers on the back and they say I should be able to use them anywhere. They said I could buy online also, I can on USA sites, but not the UK. I thank you now for your help!!

  1. Most retailers in UK use chip and pin.  If your card is not a c&p card, you will not be able to use it.

Wilfred b sorry but you can use ours abroad and in the States but they are not recognised in the US as debit cards and stores have to treat them as credit cards (same difference but you have to sign)

  2. I found the same problem with my UK credit/debit cards in USA.

Perhaps we don't really trust each other.

  3. a-and-a you are wrong some stores still let you sign.

the question when the USA let  us use ours over there we will let them use those over here most debit cards can only be used in country of orgin unless arrangements have been made with your bank beforehand
