call your phone company free of charge, find out 4 yourself its only a text message its not gonna cost you that much.

It depends on both of your cell phone plans, not the distance.

If you both have Verizon, for example, and the unlimiting texting plan, it wouldn't cost extra.

If you have different plans, it could cost one or both of you extra.

You'd have to read or know the stipulations of your own cell phones plans to know, and if you can't figure it out, call your provider and ask.
