No pages will load but says i am connected?

Question

My friend has a dell laptop that wont load pages in explorer or Firefox but says its connected to the internet. I have even hooked me cable modem to it and it still does that same. I checked to check for problems came back no problems with the internet connection. It is running Vista, Any advice???

Restart, wait a little while. Sometimes computers are just retarded.

Do a virus and spyware scan then try  turning off any firewall software on the pc.
