  1. I believe there should be a federal law requiring employers to pay an employees normal daily pay during there jury service.

And I personally have never worked for a company that did not pay for your time missed due to jury service and I wouldn't.

  2. There's no law making employers pay for jury duty. If you get chosen and it's a fairly long trial you may get excused for undue financial hardship. My employer pays for jury duty but only for a certain length of time, after that then you have to ask for an extension. Good luck

  3. Yes it's fair.  Jury Duty is just that, a duty, part of being a citizen, it's a responsibility of being a citizen, so Kwitcherbellyakin.  It's great to be a citizen of the United States.  I have Jury Duty in the morning.  The first time I've been called.  I'm looking forward to it.

  4. Yes I do, and it just cost me a few days' pay...fair?  Well, it just is what it is...I guess if I were the employer I wouldn't want to pay for the time off, but as an employee, I kind of resent being stripped of my time and my pay by force at the hand of the government.

  5. Many employers don't pay for JD, but the court usually pays you enough for lunch.

  6. there is no law stating you get paid at your job for jury duty.

  7. That is correct, Your Company does not have to pay you for going to Jury Duty.

In Texas if you are registered to Vote, then you may be summoned for Jury Duty. Some employers do give you pay on that day, but it is rare and not required by Law. If you have payed personel days you could use that.
