Question:

No picture on Samsung Rear Projection HLR5067 TV?

I have a 50" Samsung rear projection tv. The model number is HLR5067. There is sound, but no picture, on all but one input. I have an HD Antenna hooked up to the antenna input, and I get a picture on that, so I know the bulb is fine, but no picture on any other setting. I called Samsung but they are clueless. Anyone else have this problem and know what is wrong? Also, any ideas on cost to repair?

Thanks!

  1. Well Samsung really wouldn't know anything about why it's doing it, that isn't thier job. I suggest taking it to a repair shop (or since it's so big, look for somewhere that can pick-up) and getting them to take a look. Sounds like you have some wiring issues going on inside the TV. If you take it to a TV repair shop and pay the estimate that will tell you exactly what's wrong with it and how much it will be to repair. It's almost impossible to tell why the TV is acting up unless someone looks at it first.

  2. What other inputs do you have hooked up?

    Component

    HDMI

    DVI

    Composit

    VGA

Maybe you have 1 audio jack mixed with a video, but that can't be if it's happening on HDMI or more than one input.

It's possible there's something wonky with the circuitry that does the switching.

Try removing everything that's hooked up (except the power) and try your peripherals one at a time on only one input at a time.
