No plans to develop Ultra Street Fighter 4 to Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One - Gaming news
There have been a lot of speculations in the recent weeks about the possibility of Ultra Street Fighter 4, Capcom’s newest update to its popular fighting game Super Street Fight 4, being developed for the next-generation consoles of Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft.
The producer of the Street Fighter series Yoshinori Ono, however, has made it crystal clear through his Twitter account that they have no such plans at the moment and are only focused on developing the update for the PC and current-generation consoles, namely Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Ever since the announcement of Ultra Street Fighter 4, Ono has been quite active on Twitter, interacting with the fans of the franchise and keeping them updated on the latest developments.
He admitted that he was getting a lot of requests for considering a PlayStation Vita version of Ultra Street Fight 4. While he did not really state what he planned on doing about these requests, he did reveal that he has been in talks with Capcom about developing a Nintendo 3DS version of the upcoming update.
Released in April 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Super Street Fighter 4 was originally meant to be an update to the original Street Fighter 4, but the content was large enough to compel Capcom to release it as a stand-alone title.
Now, the company has announced an update for Super Street Fighter 4, which will be increasing the fighter roster by adding 4 characters, namely Rolento, Elena, Hugo and Poison. These four characters were featured in Street Fighter X Tekken.
In addition to this, the new update will also introduce new modes, features, stages and feedback fuelled by fan feedback to make the game even more balanced, exciting and gripping.
Ultra Street Fighter 4 is slated for an early 2014 release and will be available as a $15 DLC for both Super Street Fighter 4 and Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition. It will also be available as a physical disc for $40.
It remains to be seen whether Capcom eventually decides to work on a next-generation console version of the game. A lot would, however, depend on the fans and the force of their demand.
