No post concussion symptoms for Minnesota Twins’ Justin Morneau after first game – MLB Update
Minnesota Twins’ are happy to report that their first baseman Justin Morneau is not showing any sign of post concussion symptoms. Morneau was unable to perform in the 2010 Major League Baseball season, as he was extensively side-lined due to a serious concussion.
The player is now in the mix again and recently played his first game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The top player for the club is looking at another encounter on Friday in the Grapefruit League, as he has been working out in Florida for a long period now and his major focus has been on getting back to his prime condition for the 2011 Major League Baseball
season. When the hitter reported negatively on his symptoms, the Twins were content with the outcome.
"Actually, I was pretty -- I wouldn't say surprised is a good word -- but pleased with how it went," Morneau said. "Obviously, I was sitting around waiting all night for something. It went well. It was good. I woke up [Wednesday] morning feeling pretty good."
Morneau was content with his performance on the mound as his 1 for 2 knock against the Pirates in four innings earned him an enormous confidence building boost. On a loaded bases situation, Morneau capitalised as he sped a double to the right field line
and converted three runs as a consequence.
"Once we got through last night and everything felt pretty good, I was confident that I was going to wake up today and be able to do everything I wanted to do," Morneau said.
With Morneau making his way back to good health, the Twins will be exceptionally ecstatic over the situation, as he plays a very important part in the team’s line-up. The club will have a hard task to take down the competition in the region, but returning
players will make the errand easier.
It will be interesting to see how Morneau will continue to work on his fitness and put in a good performance to help the Twins carry their winning momentum forward.
