No power, will not turn on. We connected a Laptop via svga and trid to turn on the TV. TV did not

We connected a Laptop via svga and trid to turn on the TV. TV did not come on. So, we disconnected the svga cable and tried to turn on the TV. no luck. We checked the power outlet and power is there. Any ideas?
