Question:

No power to PC after dusting?

This morning I sprayed the dust out of my PC, put it back together and now I'm not getting any power.

The green light next to the power input flashes instead of staying on and it doesnt power up at all.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

  1. turn power off and check all connectors it appears one is loose.all the ones you can disconnect do it then reconnect.

    internal and external connections.

    hope this helps .

    good luck.

  2. 1.  I am guessing you used a can of compressed air and made sure not to turn it so that it sprayed liquid instead of air.  And that you unplugged the computer before you started cleaning it.

    2.  It is possible that a wire was loose and when it was blasted with "air" it got unplugged.

    3.  Suggest, making sure all the cards (including your memory) are firmly in place.  Make sure the power connectors from the Power Supply are plugged in to the motherboard and your hardware (Hard Drive, CD/DVD Drive).

    4.  When you get the "flashing green light" on the power do you hear the Power Supply fan starting up?

--Will watch for any additional details.
