No problems between QBs Tim Tebow and Brady Quinn says coach John Fox - NFL News
A day after Denver Broncos backup quarterback, Brady Quinn, apologised for comments attributed to him in
GQ Magazine which showed him slandering quarterback Tim Tebow’s achievements, coach John Fox has come out to say that both the quarterbacks are close and there is no rift between them.
On Wednesday, GQ magazine published an article over Tebow’s performance leading the Broncos to the American Football Conference (AFC) west title and into the playoffs.
Statements attributed to Quinn described Tebow as lucky and fan pressure leading to his selection to lead Denver’s offence.
The backup quarterback was also stated as saying that Tebow is not humble and his overt religious displays are just attention seeking in front of the cameras.
However, just a few hours after the article made headlines, Quinn took to Twitter to say that the quotes had been misconstrued and he apologised to Tebow for any offence caused by those statements.
Fox, believes that Quinn’s statements were lost in translation and both players are actually good friends.
"Sometimes this gets lost in translation, but I know their relationship is very good and they are good teammates,"
He also went on to add that,
"That just shows who he is. Sometimes that happens in conversation though it's never happened to me."
Quinn, on Twitter, also said that he had called Tebow and clarified his position and there are no problems between them.
“I have addressed my disappointment with the writer and have reached out to Tim. I apologize to anyone who feels I was trying to take anything away from our Team's or Tim's success this season."
Tebow this year became one of the most talked about phenomenon in the National Football League (NFL). His signature praying posture before, during and after games became a fad known as “Tebowing” while his performances on the field further increased his
popularity.
The Broncos quarterback led his team into the playoffs after taking over from Kyle Orton. A string of fourth quarter comebacks and some brilliant performances sent Tebow’s popularity through the roof.
Quinn will most likely leave the franchise this season as a free agent and coach John Fox has said that the Broncos plan on bringing in two more quarterbacks.
"We typically go to camp with four quarterbacks and right now we have two, so you do the math," Fox said.
