No punishment for national selector, PCB disciplinary committee acquits Mohammad Ilyas after issuing warring – Cricket News Update
A http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Ilyas-Mahmood-c76948, after issuing him a warning letter for violating the code of conduct.
PCB has always been making headlines but all in the wrong way. Recently, the Board settled down the matter with former skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sahibzada-Mohammad-Shahid-Khan-Afridi-c87933, who earlier announced his retirement from international cricket following his dismissal from captaincy.
During the conflict with the former captain, the board came across with another controversy when the national selector, along with the banned cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salman-Butt-c2418, appeared on television talk-show and gave statement on the Afridi’s case. According to the
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 rules, no board official is allowed to interact with expelled players.
Thus, PCB suspended Ilyas from his duties and summoned him a show-cause notice for breaching the code of conduct. Ilyas, who is also the father-in-law of the Pakistani Test cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-Farhat-c64218, initially shot into prominence when Afridi accused him of
conspiring against him.
While the board resolved the clash with Afridi after political interference, the governing body formulated a two-member disciplinary committee to probe the charges against the suspended selector. The selector appeared before the committee on Wednesday and
was found guilty for violating clauses number 8 and 9 of his contract with the PCB.
"Mr Ilyas was asked to explain the reasons for his recent conduct. He mentioned that he should have sought permission from PCB before appearing in a talk show. The committee noted that Mr Ilyas had responded to personal comments made
against him but had not criticised the PCB, its management, or its policies,” a release issued by the PCB stated."
Although, PCB granted Afridi with the NOC after slapping him with a hefty fine of $53,000, the committee recommended the board to lift suspension from Ilyas after just warning him to be responsible in the future.
"The committee issued a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Short-c90107 order in which it recommended that PCB issue a warning to Mr Ilyas to exercise caution while dealing with the media in the Future. The committee also recommended that PCB lift Mr Ilyas's suspension,” added
the statement.
