No recorders are present

Question

using rimage officenet software version 6.5.6.1 with windows xp sp2. under rimage system manager it sees autoloader fine and says it's enabled, but states there are no readers or recorders present. under manual recorders it sees the two dvd-rw's as two dvd readers but no recorders present. have the firewire and serial cable hooked up, does the serial connection need a null modem? any help appreciated.
