The French tactician was satisfied with his team’s performance despite the defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Ligue 1 fixture. The coach believes that the Brest-based club did everything to stop their opponents, but Les Parisiens proved to be a
far stronger force
Stade Brestois 29 slumped to defeat at the hands of league leaders Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 fixture taking place at Stade Francis-La Ble. Abdoulwhaid Sissoko was sent off earlier during the first-half which provided the Paris-based club an advantage
of greater number of players, one they thoroughly took advantage of.
However, Brest coach, Landry Chauvin, had no complaints from his players as he praised them for their performance despite the defeat.
Chauvin thinks that the straight red-card to Sissoko was a bit unfair, and the referee should’ve tried to maintain a balance in the game. With a man down, the Brest-based club fell victim to rampant PSG, feeling helpless against their attacking strength.
The coach stated:
"Honestly, I would have liked to have seen it 11 against 11 right through to the end to see just how many problems we could have caused them.”
The game was an even one at the start, but the scenario changed once Sissoko was sent-off for a tackle on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073. After that Les Parisiens took hold of the game, scoring three goals before the final whistle was blown. The French tactician spoke
of his strategy regarding the game:
“We wanted to let them have the ball and play down the flanks, and it worked quite well until the red card. The players battled well, showed a lot of courage, but were up against a far superior armada.”
The Frenchman feels no regrets as his side slumped to their 10th defeat of the season. He said:
“I regret nothing about the way we played.”
Despite the loss, the coach feels proud of his players. The tactician believes that his players did all what they could against the Paris-based club. However, the French powerhouse seemed to be determined in their pursuit of a victory, and with a man less
that proved to be a difficult task. The Frenchman explained:
“We can be proud of what the players have done this evening. The team's progressing, as they have done throughout the last few weeks.”
