Question:

No signal to monitor after changing PSU

I have just swapped the PSU in my computer after the computer started to smell like it was burning out and eventually it would not power up. To make sure that it was the PSU that was faulty I swapped it with a spare one I had. The spare is a 300W and the old one is 350W ... assuming that the spare would be ok in this old PC.

The PC does power up again but 'no signal' is displayed on the monitor. The monitor is connected to the motherboards on-board graphics.

So is it the PSU that is the problem being under power, or could the fault of always been with the motherboard?

Anyway of me testing before I go an purchase a new PSU the same as the old one?
