  1. absolutely nothing will happen.

the only reason they do not want you consuming soda is because of the sugar in it, they just dont want you to get cavities!

  2. nothing would happen that doesn't make sense... drinking wont affect anything just don't eat the ice!

  3. The only thing I can think of is the acid may deteriorate your enamel on your exposed teeth causing discoloration when the braces are removed, you'll have areas of lighter color where the braces were.  If this a good reason then tea and coffee and cola would also be on the list.  Call the orthodontist's office they'll tell you for sure.

  4. I had braces a year ago and I drank soda quite often and there were no ill effects. Dont chew gum though, it's a warzone!

  5. i have braces and nothing happend so far but if you do they could deteriorate the metal....drink with a straw

  6. Soda have a high concentration of acidic and therefore, can dissolve the glue that holds your braces on. The best way to go is to use a straw to prevent soda from brushing on to your teeth. The main food to stay away from is caramel! Those will definitely remove the metal part! Or chewing on ice!

  7. just make sure to brush teeth (twice) daily

  8. I've never heard that before. they probably say that because they dont want you to rot your teeth, thats so they dont have to do any operations on you when you have your braces and it makes it easier for them. But you can probably still drink soda, but not 24/7

  9. nothing! my orthodontist didn't say that!!! WHO DO U HAVE ANYWAY!!!> ???????????

You are fine, and if you want to chew gum. Chew trident. it is one of the only gums you can chew with braces cause it isn't sticky

  10. Don't worry hun. I have braces and I don't really have a hard copy list but I know what not to eat and drink. Carbonated drinks are okay as long as you brush A.S.A.P the carbonation and acids in certain sodas can wear away at the adhesive keeping your braces on. Try not to drink them too often. Mountain Dew and Coke are probably the worst you could drink.

  11. It's ok but they advise not to drink it because it's sugary and causes cavities. Don't you dare chew gum, IT REALLY STICKS TO THE BRACES PARTS. Seriously listen to me don't do it. I've had braces for almost 3 years. Yeah warzone alright...

  12. When I had my braces, my dentist told me not to chew gum because it can get stuck between the braces. I've never heard of soda! You should ask your dentist.

  13. I had braces and I drank soda.

    Nothing will happen.

Just don't drink too many, they're still bad for you.

  14. ive got braces n the dentist told me not to drink soda or chew gum and not to eat really sugary foods.. they say this because with braces, u can get cavity's easily if u dont brush your teeth..

as long as u still bursh your teeth (which im hoping u do) then there is nothing wrong with drinking soda.
